| Current position: | |
- I'm currently sharing my activities between my part-time teaching and freelance activities.
| Freelance: 2002 to now | | At that time I decided to work as a freelance 3D CG artist. I obtained the « artist's status » (Belgian official status for artists) and I offered services specializing in the realization of characters and animations under the name of « Actorlabs » in collaboration with Smart ASBL. Since then I've had the opportunity to work on a variety of very interesting projects, from video games to 3D illustrations as well as animations for advertisements, creation of mascots, animations for television series, etc.. With the years and projects I was able to increase my skills in those different fields. I have kept in touch with some colleagues from previous jobs, that form an excellent contact network, where I am well-known. These years I have had the opportunity to work in collaboration with Franck Sauer and Yann Robert for the Fresh3D company to realize some video game projects for PS2, PS3 and PSP platforms. | Teaching: 2003 to now | | Since 2003, I've also become a part-time teacher in a university college, where I'm teaching rigging and animation for video games. For this, I have obtained a degree to teach adults, the CAPAES (higher education teaching certificate). | Short film: 2001 | | Having faced several bankruptcies in my previous jobs, I decided to realize a short animation film, "Sahari". With this project I went through all the production stages: script, storyboard, animatics, technical research, graphics research, modeling, rigging, animation, rendering, special effects, editing, post production, sound and distribution. Thanks to this short film I participated in numerous festivals and competitions in the world. | Video games: 2001 | | I had the opportunity to work some time at Appeal, a video game company that worked on PS2 platform, where I became a lead animator. Regrettably, this experiment also ended with a bankruptcy. | Animation Studio: 1999 to 2001 | |
I decided to redirect my career to improve my artistic skills. This is why I pursued my work experience in the realization of 3D television series and full-length films at Neuroplanet. There I had the opportunity to set up production pipelines, to perfect my knowledge in animation and in modelling cartoon-like characters. This experiment ended too soon with the bankruptcy of Neuroplanet group. | Video games: 1995 to 1999 | | I directly began my career at Art&Magic (company of arcade games) as a 3D CG artist, where I have learnt the techniques of real-time video games, as well as those of motion capture which were only starting to develop at this time. |
